Tango Film

Dudendance have created two short films inspired by the Tango world in Buenos Aires. In 2002 the company were joined by Tina Ehrenhaus (singer), Sandro Nunziata (dancer) and pianist Fabiana Glanate in a cabaret/milonga Café Bohemios. The piece toured Scotland as a unique evening combining a tango dance workshop, tango cabaret performance and Milonga.
Clea Wallis and Paul Rous continue to teach tango classes and workshops in North East Scotland.

Created as a collaboration with editor Inigo Garrido. A single 8mm film take lasting four minutes is edited onto a 3 screen looped installation. A man dances with a semi-dead woman in a forest.

Musa, an old Tango Maestro from Buenos Aires tells about his experiments with dying. The film follows him around bars and cafes of La Boca. Inspired by the testimonies of dance marathons of the 1920’s and deals with exhaustion as expressed through dance.
